Workstep is a government funded programme that aims to assist individuals with disabilities and long term health problems to:
- Find and maintain long term employment
- Retain employment with a current employer when at serious risk of losing their job
The programme is managed from and delivered at Whitehouse Enterprises in Ipswich, whilst the Supported Placement Scheme also allows Workstep to be accessed throughout Suffolk.
Workstep enables individuals to work within a commercial environment, providing the possibility to progress into open employment where appropriate.
In most cases a Disability Employment Advisor (DEA) or Personal Advisor (PA) at your local job centre will assess individual suitability for Workstep and then make a referral to Whitehouse Enterprises.
